Operates, demonstrating full competency on conventional and CNC equipment and machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, and milling machines. Plans, programs, and carries out operations needed to produce complex prototype pieces that meet precise specifications. Predominantly programs and operates 4 and 5 axis high-speed machines. Experienced in Mastercam and Vericut. Must be able to operate Fanuc, Haas, Mazak and/or Mikron machining centers Applies knowledge of working properties of metals (including, but not limited to aluminum, stainless steel, brass, copper, and exotic metals). Interfaces and supports engineers and technicians in the assembly, integration, and testing of space flight components, hardware, instruments, and spacecraft. Performs non-routine assignments and assists in setting group goals and plans to carry them through. Selects and adapts procedures to current assignments with only initial instructions. Receives technical advice when needed and performs under general supervision. May cross-train and/or support other duties associated within area of assignment as directed by lead personnel or supervision.Responsibilities:Primary duties are to independently and with general direction operate conventional and CNC equipment and machine tools. This will include producing precision complex prototype pieces that meet precise specifications from drawings and flight hardware per project requirements.Must be able to accurately use measuring equipment; geometric dimensioning and tolerancing using precision equipment, and read, interpret and follow written procedures and simple technical drawings and other routine tasks as directed by lead personnel or supervision.Predominantly experienced in Mastercam and Vericut.Must be able to operate Fanuc, Haas, Mazak and/or Mikron machining centersApplies knowledge of working properties of metals (including, but not limited to aluminum, stainless steel, brass, copper, and exotic metals).May be cross-utilized and cross-trained to support other groups to develop overlapping workforce.May operate conventional and CNC equipment and machine tools such as lathes, drill presses, and milling machines.Minimum Requirements:Education - High School diploma or GED is required. Minimum of 6 years direct experience in programming in a CNC machine shop environment required.
