This position is within the Aircraft Signature & Avionics Measurement (ASAM) Branch of the Range Instrumentation Division (RID) at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland supporting ASAM's ADAMS/BEAMS Radio Frequency (RF) team. The team is a member of ASAM's Signature Section.Duties & Responsibilities:Operation, maintenance, and repair of ADAMS/BEAMS Radio Frequency (RF) systems, including transmitters (solid state and Traveling Wave Tube (TWT), exciters, and receivers.Applies engineering techniques, principles, and precedents to develop, design, modify, install, test, evaluate, or operate electrical, electronic, avionics, mechanical, communications, or related data processing systems for military weapon systems, associated support equipment or facilities, unmanned vehicles or small craft.May review, analyze, develop, prepare or apply engineering, technical or maintenance specifications, policies, standards, or procedures.May plan and perform tests and evaluations on systems, equipment or components.Performs standardized or prescribed assignments involving sequence of related operations.Performs routine work independently and begins to perform non-routine and complex assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a portion of a larger and more diverse project.Selects and adapts plans, techniques, designs, or layouts.May coordinates personnel in related activities to resolve problems and schedule the work.May review, analyze, and integrate the technical work of others and provide oversight and training of lower level technicians.Any other duties deemed necessary for this position.Experience, Skills, and Requirements:Applicants for this position MUST have a minimum of four (4) years' experience in performing the stated or similar functions as stated above.Former military with previous Radio Frequency experience is desired.Must have basic Microsoft Office skills, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Must be able to work overtime and occasional weekends.Should be a self-starter and be able to use initiative to work with minimal supervision.Must be flexible and team oriented.Applicant must possess a valid driver's license.A' .Education Required:High school diploma or equivalent. Post high school technical or military training highly desired.Clearance Requirements:Must able to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense (DoD) issued Top Secret Clearance.Work Conditions:Conditions will vary. Most work is performed in enclosed buildings, but some outside work may be required. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching. Applicant should be capable of lifting 100 lbs.
