Our employees enjoy more than just a great work environment! This position will be based in our HQ located in Ashburn, VA. We are seeking a Director of Accounting to join our expanding finance team. As our Director of Accounting, you will be responsible for the General Ledger Close, internal and external reporting, ensuring a strong internal control environment and managing the quarterly and annual audits. The position will play a key role in accelerating the close process, process improvement and automation. Responsibilities: * Direct the accounting team during the closing process to secure deadlines are met. * Manages general and cost accounting activities in performing all general ledger functions and keeps custody of accounting books, records and forms * Oversees preparation of internal accounting and financial reports for management and directors. * Implements process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency. * Advocate implementation and make certain adherence to accounting policies and procedures. * Confirm regular account reconciliation to completion. * Review of quarter and year-end workpapers, and primary contact for auditors. * Encourage to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, regular assessment, and development. Job Requirements Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience (6 years). * CPA strongly preferred. * 8+ years in an operational or GL accounting role. * 4+ years' leadership experience in financial and/or operational accounting role. * Solid understanding of internal control methodology, practices, US GAAP. * Prior experience in public Accounting supporting publicly-traded clients. * Strong report writing and documentation of work papers. * 5-10% travel. * The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements to access sensitive information, which requires US citizenship.
