Job Description Immediate Opening- Assistant Project ManagerMy client is one of the country's most award-winning specialty contractors. They have a 100 + year history of industry leadership and successful projects. The successful candidate will be engaged in managing multiple projects for a large specialty commercial contractor. We are looking for leaders interested in building teams and who are motivated to succeed. You can work well with a team while multi-tasking and making informed decisions independently. This position is for someone with a strong desire to move into a Project Management or an Operation Management position. We work with multiple established platforms but are flexible enough to embrace the unique skills you bring to the job. This position works from our Regional DC office located in Virginia. The right person has a well-developed understanding of the commercial construction process from either the General Contractor or Specialty Contractor perspective and can manage construction documents, construction management technology, and pricing exercises. Knowledge of tile, stone, terrazzo, soft flooring materials and installation is desired, but not required. We will train the successful candidate to be knowledgeable of all tasks from submittals to project closeout.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist the project team managing multiple projects from start up to close out.Coordinate with industry manufacturers and distributors for on-time procurement.Create and track project submittal/approval information based on plans and specifications.Prepare Change Order proposals, RFI's, Field Work Authorizations and pricing exercises.Review and evaluate project reporting, purchase order, financial cost controls and project budgets within our established information management systems.Review project architectural and design construction drawings and narratives to track updates and changes while recording the changes onto our field management platforms.CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: 2-4 years construction experience or an equivalent construction related degree, such as Construction Management, Architecture, or similar experience.Comfort with technology; Microsoft Office proficiency, creating Excel spreadsheets and formulas. Working within Spectrum accounting system manager software.Comfort with Architectural plans and details, On-Screen, Measure Square or similar estimating and shop drawing programs.Excellent written and verbal communication skill is required. Multi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus.A positive high energy "Can Do" attitude adaptable to a dynamic, fast paced work environment.A creative problem solver energized by the multi-tasking requirement, coordinating multiple tasks and personnel under a deadline.Salary and Benefits:My client offers a competitive salary, based on experience.
