An Apprentice will be given instruction and work experience installing basic equ ipment which involves using hand tools and power tools, a basic understanding of Telecomm S ystems, blueprints and knowledge of codes and standards . Additionally, each apprentice must make every effort to become a qualified BICSI Technician . This requires regist ration for related instruction courses, attending class regularly, and being on time for both work and apprenticeship school. Telecomm Apprentices are full time employees with company benefits Job Requirements Responsibilities included, but not limited to: + Basic K nowledge and S afe U se of hand tools and various power tools + Wearing of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) + Following S afety P olicies and Procedures + A ctively Participating in Daily Safety and W ork briefings. ? + Assisting in the I nstallation various types of Low Voltage Cable + Assisting in the I nstallation of various pathways and c able t ray + Assisting in the installation of various Telecommunications Devices + Assisting in the I nstallation of Pre fabricated Components and Assembl ies . + Assisting in the I nstallation of Telecommunications Grounding Systems + Maintain a clean work area and p articipa te in j ob site clean up + Securing company tools and materials daily + Up to 25% Travel which may include domestic and/or international. Qualifications / Skills Sets / Expectations: + Be 18 years of age + Have a High School diploma or GED + H ave a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. + S uccessfully pass a background check and drug test + H ave reliable transportation to and from the jobsite and school + Be willing to attend school in the evenings one or two nights a week for three (3) years. + Ability to pass basic aptitude test + C onsistently report to work on time, work well with other to accomplish a common goal and maintain a safe work environment + W ear long pants and a shirt that covers the shoulders by six ( 6 ) inches. These are not provided by the Company. + P rovide basic tools from provided tool list prior to 1 st day of employment. Physical Abilities: + Lift and carry 70 pounds for an extended period of time. + Relocate up to a twelve foot stepladder without assistance. + Ability to work at various heights , can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders. + Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis. + Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English. + Ability to use a standard ladder while carrying tools.
