Global Government Relations (GGR) is housed within Corporate Responsibility and is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive policy, regulatory and advocacy strategy on behalf of JPMorgan Chase. This includes engaging in balanced advocacy with regulators and policymakers, understanding and providing thought leadership on how policies affect the firm's clients and economic growth overall, and governing internal coordination among regions and lines of business on global regulatory reform issues. The Role JPMorgan Chase is hiring an Executive Director to coordinate development and implementation of the Firm's global strategy on tax policy and regulation. The position will sit within Corporate Responsibility's Global Government Relations group, report to the Head of US Government Relations - with a dotted line of responsibility to the Head of International Government Relations and the Head of Corporate Tax - and play a significant role in global tax policy development. The ideal candidate will be based in Washington, DC. The Executive Director of Tax Policy and Regulation will be a highly regarded subject matter expert who will leverage subject matter expertise, data and resources from across the department and the firm to build and execute an enterprise-wide global strategy with respect to tax policies and regulations. The role will require close coordination with the Corporate Tax, Federal, International and State and Local government relations teams, as well as other internal partners including Finance, Legal and Compliance, Risk Management, and our Lines of Business (eg, Corporate & Investment Bank, Asset & Wealth Management), among others. The main areas of responsibility for the role include: Identify and monitor tax policies and regulations in key markets globally, and assess potential impacts on JPMorgan Chase as a corporate entity and through our Lines of Business Assist the head of Corporate Tax and other firm leaders in developing policy positions; develop advocacy strategies on proposed tax policies and regulations in collaboration with government relations colleagues and in coordination with Corporate Tax; and engage and coordinate with trade associations, and other stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes Assist Corporate Tax in advising our Lines of Business and other functions on the implementation of tax policies and regulations, including at firmwide and legal-entity levels, to drive consistent interpretation and execution of requirements Coordinate development of policy positions globally to ensure consistency of firm views across the globe Partner with Corporate Tax to provide regular updates to senior management about global tax policy and regulatory developments and trends, including JPMorgan Chase's strategy Convene and coordinate networks of external partners on issues of shared importance to raise the profile of the work and advance advocacy and engagement efforts The ideal candidate will have: 10+ years of experience in tax policy and/or regulatory development and analysis, ideally focused on banking or investment management Demonstrated analytical and independent problem-solving skills; ability to exercise sound, independent judgment and drive collaborative decision-making A strategic mindset Excellent writing, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to distill and present complex information plainly and succinctly Strong attention to detail and quality of work Ability to excel and maintain a positive attitude in a high-performance, fast-paced professional environment, while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines Strong initiative, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking Highest level of integrity and professionalism Excellent judgment JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the JP Morgan and Chase brands.
