SIFMA - Assistant Vice President, Asset Management GroupSIFMA is currently looking for an Assistant Vice President, Asset Management Group. This position reports to the Managing Director and Associate General Counsel, AMG. While minimal former experience is required, this individual must demonstrate a high degree of drive, initiative, and autonomy. A familiarity with financial services regulation - and specifically SEC regulation - is a strong plus, as this person will eventually be expected to clearly articulate SIFMA AMG's members' position on member calls and in regulatory meetings.Job may be located in Washington, DC or New York, with a preference for Washington, DC Responsibilities include:Organize and manage SIFMA AMG's Committees, Forums, and Taskforces related to specific regulatory initiatives;Engage with US and international regulators and policymakers on behalf of SIFMA AMG's members;Respond promptly to member questions and concerns on regulatory issues;Draft email updates and briefing notes for members and SIFMA colleagues;Draft analysis and advocacy materials, including comment letters, talking points, and educational materials.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from an accredited university;Minimum 3-5 years of financial services or relevant legal experience, which may include internships;Basic understanding of the capital markets and their regulatory structure is necessary, along with the ability and a strong interest in developing expertise in regulatory and other public policy issues associated with the US capital markets;Strong written and oral skills, with the ability to communicate in a variety of styles based on the intended audience;Project management skills and an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects on tight deadlines;Strong interpersonal skills, including an ability to work collaboratively within teams;Analytic skills necessary to understand the legal & regulatory issues affecting the industry;Adherence to the highest level of professionalism and an ability to interact and build rapport with senior businesspeople and regulators.About us:SIFMA is the leading trade association for broker-dealers, investment banks and asset managers operating in the US and global capital markets.
