Role and ResponsibilitiesSummaryDesigns; develops; and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor; schedules; and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment; testing procedures; manufacturing processes; or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area. The Test Engineer is responsible for component and system test and repair of electrical and mechanical systems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirementsEvaluate, recommend, and justify technical approaches or solutions to projects and departmental proceduresConduct a variety of non-routine and non-repetitive operations for installation of electronic and mechanical assembliesTroubleshoot and perform maintenance procedures for reconfigurable simulatorsProvide inputs to technical documentsWork in an integrated product team environmentDevelop and document test methodologies and proceduresWork with hand toolsQualifications and Education RequirementsClearance requiredTravel 50%Able to read schematics, drawings, and follow modification instructionsAble to use various test equipment (multimeter, theodolite, oscilloscope, etc.)Able to use hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, crimpers, etc.)Preferred SkillsBachelor's degree in any hard science or Mechanical/Electrical Engineering1 to 2 years' experience in flight simulation or a similar fieldAvionic systems troubleshooting/repairDiagnosing and troubleshooting network systems and/or computer networkingIndividual must be able to troubleshoot at a systems levelComfortable working with Windows and Lennox based computer systemsSecurity Responsibilities Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office and engineering lab environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
