Description/Job SummaryAssist in the design, development, testing, and integration of software interface projects. Assignments may involve designing and documenting data structures and algorithms, participating in code reviews, providing technical assistance and training to fellow team members, reviewing technical documentation, providing software design recommendations, and establish programming standards. Must be a self-starter with a high degree of professionalism, dependability, and possess the ability to work independently as the lead on small software development efforts.Responsibilities/DutiesContribute to software engineering requirements in embedded systems and signal processingDesign, code, test, integrate, and document software of moderate complexityPerform system-level integration and troubleshootingParticipate in cross-functional team efforts in definition, integration, verification, and validation of products and sub-systemsWork on a small, like-minded and focused team of developersProvide software engineering in support of a highly prominent, long-term NAVAIR program as a Windows 7/10 Baseline SMEManage ATLAS lab and development networks, and the installation and troubleshooting of hardware and software related to government projects, as well as maintaining all ATLAS network diagrams and rack layoutsManage and maintain network security on ATLAS networks by conducting ACAS SCAP scans, and performing remediation efforts to document and correct all technical vulnerabilities and new threats detected on systems in the networkImplement STIGs and complete STIG checklists to ensure security protections are sufficient to safeguard the level of data on ATLAS systemsAssist with managing ClearCase administration and licensing for the ATLAS labEvaluate and provide expert advice and solutions to any issues related to ATLAS networks or government projectsRegularly interact with customer(s) to determine needs and mission requirements, and address any concerns that ariseRequired QualificationsEducation: Required - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering discipline. Each advanced technical degree may be substituted for a year of experienceExperience: Minimum - 5 years performing the foregoing functions. Highly desired experience coding integrated systems, Mil STD 1553B or ARINC-429 interfaces, INS and GPS interfaces, as well as HF/V/UHF/UHF SATCOM radiosExperience in synchronizing multiple subsystems, integration and test experience in a minimum of one of the following computer programming languages: C, C++, C#, Objective C, Python, PHP, Java, Java Script, and SQLExperience with standard Linux/Unix development environments and toolsKnowledge of systems hardware and software design and integration, distributed processing, networking, weapon systems, and digital and analog communications technologyExperience with standard full lifecycle software development practices and configuration management toolsProficiency in Microsoft Office beneficialTo ensure compliance with President Biden's September 9, 2021 executive order, NASC is implementing a new requirement for employees to either show proof of being fully vaccinated from COVID-19, or have an approved exemption (based on a disability/medical condition or sincerely held religious belief) exempting them from the requirement, by December 8, 2021.
