The Sr. Director will be accountable for all planning, execution, prioritization, work item tracking, and communications associated to shared data platforms & services roadmaps and sprints, collaborating heavily with the Data Platform & Services Engineering team. You will work directly with the Data@Tableau community to understand their scenarios, personas and use cases to find creative ways to make them successful at scale. You will advocate for the Data@Tableau community and up level Customer 0 scenarios to Tableau Product Engineering, ensuring valuable feedback loops to improve our own Products while also enabling shared data platforms & services for internal usage. This leader will also be responsible for both growing and maintaining the existing Product & Program Management group, day-to-day work allocations, career planning, coaching, and mentorship while also enabling a best-in-class Product & Program Management organization through process, planning, and requirement standards that improves engineering velocity and customer experience. This role is critical to the success of the new CDO office, being the glue of multiple functions and key to insight capabilities related to CDO operational effectiveness. What you'll be doing Some of the things you'll be doing include **+ Help grow and manage the Data Product & Program Management team+ Create a culture of trust, agility, innovation, and fun within the Product & Program Management team+ Help define product vision, strategy, and roadmap for advancing Enterprise Data Platform & Services, and Data Management capabilities through requirements, market assessment, delivery plans, and data strategy.+ Manage product & program backlog and sprint priority including creating user stories and defining project exit criteria.+ Prioritize features and deliver functional specifications with corresponding justification.+ Serve as a product owner on the scrum team(s) and work with engineers to deliver a quality product on time.+ Collaborate with PM, Engineering, and Operations peers to deliver strategic and tactical plans and objectives.+ Strive to continuously improve current service visibility, incident response, and insights, as well as quality and capabilities through new services or processes.+ Engage with our partner and customer communities to drive customer enthusiasm and product adoption, working closely with key customers to envision, plan, and execute along with assigned architecture and consulting resources.+ Work extensively with engineering teams to scope, prioritize and drive feature implementation.+ Present product capabilities, vision, value propositions, and roadmap briefings to the Data@Tableau community, Tableau Product Engineering teams, and at CDO events.+ Collaborate with Data Platform & Services engineering to advocate for internal data teams that ensure their success, manage escalations, requirements analysis, and product planning activities.+ Collaborate with the CDO, GovComm & Risk, Data Platform & Services Engineering and Data Literacy & Enablement team on product vision, feature launch, positioning, messaging, and literacy campaigns.+ Build strong partnerships across Tableau and Salesforce to identify opportunities to improve our products.+ Ensure the rest of the company has visibility into product plans and execution.+ Champion our culture and values.**Experience/Skills Required:**+ 7+ years of solid product & program management experience with a proven track record of building awesome platforms and/or products from concept to delivery.+ Demonstrated experience in gathering and transforming product requirements into an actionable product roadmap.+ Top-notch written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership, and evangelizing product strategy.+ Strong collaboration, influence, and negotiation skills to align the organization around prioritization and delivery of product roadmap.+ Exceptional time management skills to effectively juggle multiple demanding priorities+ Strong Platform user experience/design sense.+ Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, along with the ability to excite and lead others.+ Proven platform product management experience in the B2B enterprise space.+ Expertise in at least some of the areas including Big Data technologies, Analytics & ML/AI at Petabyte scale, public cloud services, and cloud-native architectures.+ Expertise in building a cloud service from scratch and scaling it to handle petabytes of data with thousands of users.+ Thorough understanding of infrastructure lifecycle and the ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using Agile or similar methodologies.+ Understanding of secure software development lifecycle from coding to deployment.+ Masters Degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent; MBA preferred.+ **You are a Recruiter!** Tableau hires company builders and, in this role, you will be asked to be on the constant lookout for the best talent to bring onboard to help us continue to build one of the best companies in the world_For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $170,000_ _base salary._ _You may also be entitled to receive_ _bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits._**Accommodations**If you require assistance due to a disability applying for open positions please submit a request via this Accommodations Request Form (https://careers.mail.salesforce.com/accommodations-request-form) .**Posting Statement**At Salesforce we believe that the business of business is to improve the state of our world.
