Our work has meaning and impact on the world around us, but also on us, and that's important.Essential Functions and Job ResponsibilitiesGDIT is seeking a .NET Application Developer to join our team supporting the US Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Office of Corporate Information Systems to provide Operations and Maintenance (O) Support Services of their Corporate Business Systems (CBSOM). As the Application Programmer, you will provide application support for numerous business applications. You will support DOE's Corporate Business Systems, used by over 14,000 users to fulfill the agency's mission to promote energy independence, progress scientific research, and protect the nation through nuclear security. You will be part of a 60+ person team supporting DOE on multiple task orders under our Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). Services on this single award BPA with a Period of Performance through early 2028 will be performed at the DOE office located at 20300 Century Boulevard, Germantown, MD, 20874. (Currently remote due to COVID-19). Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Modify existing software, as well as create special-purpose software to ensure efficiency and integrity between systems and applications. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems.Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary.Works with Business Analyst and Application Architect to interpret Business Requirements into a Technical SolutionApplies advanced knowledge and provides guidance to all phases of the software development lifecycleApplies advanced knowledge and provides guidance for software updates, refinement, testing, and debugging to meet business needs.Produce software design and architectureDevelop and test new and existing software applications based on business requirements and industry best practicesApplies extensive knowledge of relational database concepts and collaborates with DBA(s) to ensure application data service availabilityDevelop technical documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC)Collaborates with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.Collaborates with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.Investigates and develops solutions for identified application problemsServe as an expert on applications and provide technical supportAbility to leverage existing and emerging technologiesMinimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business, or other related discipline with 5 years of increasingly responsible and relevant experience in SQL, Visual Studio, .NET and Appian development expertise.
