Description: Job Title: PCB Designer Job Code: SAS20210508-66919 Job Location: Columbia, MD Job Description: The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Designer will work as part of a product development team. They are responsible for the layout of complex multilayer digital, power supply, or RF designs. They will work with electrical and mechanical engineers to produce high-quality layouts per the defined requirements and schedule. The designer will be responsible for the production release of layout files, fabrication, and assembly drawings. They will work with our fabricators to address any fabrication related questions or recommendations. If you are dissatisfied with the repetition of working on the same type of designs, we have a wide variety of design and laminates types. Each assignment will be different providing a challenging work environment and the ability for you to expand your design skills and material knowledge. Essential Functions: Layout of complex mixed signal, mixed technology, high density PCB designs. Collaborate with both RF or digital design engineers during parts placement and signal routing to ensure PCB designs meet all requirements. Collaborate with mechanical design engineers to ensure mechanical integrity as well as thermal requirements are met. Good time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Verify that drafting standards established are followed to ensure a uniform documentation system. Ensures that printed circuit designs meet the electrical requirements and follows the established L3Harris design and fabrication guidelines. Follow company policies and procedures, along with our established manufacturing capabilities. Estimate man-hours required to complete various assignments. Make verbal and written status reports as required. Ability to work remotely or at one of our multiple locations across the US. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience Competent experience and knowledge of PCB design technologies for military/airborne/space, PCB layout techniques, electrical schematics, PCB fabrication, and assembly drawings is desired. HDI and/or RF layout experience. Must have Altium tool set experience. Active Top Secret/SCI with CI polygraph required. Preferred Additional Skills: IPC certification CID or CID+. Experience using Agile PDM. Mentor Graphics Valor expertise. Knowledge of how to create stack ups. Experience routing DDR4, match delay, PCIe differential pairs, and phase matching of signals. High speed digital layout experience with multi-Gbps interfaces. Familiar with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
