Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a HVAC Mechanic 4 - Industrial Boiler Operator to support the operation and maintenance of our stationary boilers throughout our Elkton, Maryland location.The Northrop Grumman Missile Defense and Controls (MD&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton MD&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and San Jose, CA.Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Inspects equipment and performs preventive maintenance measures and routine operational adjustments such as lubricating and cleaning filters, motors, and other equipment. Must be available for occasional off hours work for emergency repairs.Responsibilities:Adjusts, operates, repairs as needed, and maintains domestic and industrial boilers and burner units as well as heat exchange equipment and associated pipingAdjusts, operates, and performs maintenance on draft blowers, pumps, water softeners, boiler chemical pumps and related boiler room equipmentMonitors boiler or other heating equipment operationsMaintains proper records per state and federal requirements: schedules and oversees pressure vessel inspections from outside agencies.Schedules and oversees repairs of boilers from contractors when necessaryPerforms annual cleaning on boilers and feed systemsMust be familiar with current boiler codes/requirementsBasic Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent education.Minimum 6 years of experience supporting industrial Boiler maintenanceMust be a US CitizenAbility to work independentlyMaintain accurate records and logsAbility to perform other maintenance duties periodicallyPreferred Skills:Stationary Engineers LicenseHVAC CertificationsElectrical control experience"Salary Range: 72100 - 120100Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
