Videos Videos Duties Help Duties Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Communications (OC). As a Lead Health Communications Specialist, GS-1001-14, you will serve as a team lead and technical advisor for web and print product content to achieve CMS' communications objectives while leading, planning and implementing communications across media and audience types. Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Leads planning activities and directs the implementation and coordination of communications products for consumer, provider and stakeholder information and education initiatives. Serves as the Team Lead for DCD and leads the planning, development, and implementation of program operations and policies. Establishes standards and expectations for customer service delivered by content team members to internal CMS staff and management. May serve as Contracting Officer Representative (COR), back up, or task leader, managing all phases of the procurement lifecycle in partnership with the Contracting Officer within CMS? Office of Acquisitions and Grants Management. Travel Required Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position. In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1) Serving as a focal point for internal and external strategic and tactical communications such as strategically coordinating CMS' efforts associated with public-facing content (eg, websites, publications, multimedia), and educational campaigns and engagement; 2) Developing and maintaining agency plain language, content design, communication standards and strategies for CMS and its contractors; AND 3) Providing strategic and authoritative direction on plain language content development and writing standards to support and promote consistent communications across multiple platforms. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (eg, Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (eg, professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
