Director, Global Comp Programs & OperationsAs a key member of the Global Compensation Team, this role reports to the Sr Dir, Global Compensation. The incumbent will manage a team of about 8 located in Austin and India. In addition to collaborating with the Sr Dir, they will influence and partner with the leaders of Comp Consulting and Exec & Equity Comp to drive strategy and roll-out Comp programs.Team ManagementProvide direction, counsel, and set goals for career growth and development. Ensure team to be appropriately cross-trained, staffed, and supported.Keep current and share knowledge on key compensation trends; network with other companies and professional organizations to stay abreast of best practices and hot topicsKey Strategic Responsibilities and Project WorkProvide the strategic direction for the project management and program administration of global compensation programs (base salary, bonus, equity, and spotlight award program)Partner with Corporate Finance to ensure appropriate budgeting and accruals for Comp programsDrive continuous process improvement and operations excellence for global compensation program managementManage market analysis framework, methodology and tools to deliver high quality market analytics and bring in valuable insightsDrive VMware's equitable pay strategy and recognition strategy by partnering with various teams including legal, D&I, HR Mgmt Partners, etc.Compensation Programs and OperationsVMware's Compensation model focuses on empowering people managers to be self-sufficient with compensation analysis and decision making. The Compensation Programs and Operations team should have a strong focus on supporting this model with applicable tools, resources, and partnership across HR teams.Administer salary OTE, bonus, equity review, mid-year promo/adjustment cycle. Drive role clarity among team members in Comp and other HR organizations that support Comp Programs.Lead key initiatives such as compensation benchmarking, salary range creation, and management comp reporting.Represent the comp team in HR Technology projects. Contribute to the development of guidelines, processes and governance.Lead equitable pay and recognition strategy and respective programs with working closely with cross-functional team.Monitor spend and budgets throughout the year to advise on trends and implications of ad-hoc decisions.Manage all Compensation SOX compliance processesResponsible for the creation and maintenance of global salary ranges and job matchingPartner with Comp Consulting and Education team members to develop creative, effective toolkits for HR Mgmt Partners and managersPartner with HR Business Insights and Comp Consultants to develop Tableau dashboards to enable HR Business and Management Partners with self-service Compensation informationGlobal Consulting SupportManage and develop team leader /members in Bangalore to provide consulting support to global Comp ConsultantsCreate standard compensation analysis templates; train team and ensure consistent application and usageDevelop and manage process for processing ad hoc comp analysis requests and staffing compensation projects with appropriate team membersDevelop roadmap / timeline to release standard published comp metrics to consultants to use with their client groups.Position Requirements:B.S. degree in Business or related area.
