Job Description:Job Title: Revenue Accounting LeadLocation: Reston, VA or RemoteAbout this Role:The Lead Revenue Accountant will be responsible for managing the contract accounting, revenue recognition, and billing for the Comscore contracts of our business. This role will work with other divisions within Comscore to ensure all contracts are properly captured and revenue is recognized accordingly. The Lead Revenue Accountant must be able to ensure effective controls are in place for these processes and address any noted issues. In addition, the Lead Revenue Accountant will support the close by doing journal entries and work on and lead special projects.What You'll Do:Work with key stakeholders within Comscore to ensure that all contract-related activities are accounted for timely and accuratelyReview contracts, propose and document proper revenue recognition treatmentManage the project accounting, including billing, for Comscore contractsAssist in ensuring controls are properly documented for this division of Comscore including meeting SOX requirementsAssist in identifying and implementing improvements to the processIdentify any changes to the contracts and recommend appropriate actions and/or procedures where possiblePerform monthly financial and ad hoc analyses to monitor the contracts performanceAssist the rest of the Revenue Team with ad hoc projectsSupport the quarterly reviews and annual auditAssist with month end financial close assignments as neededAssist with information gathering for external and internal audit requests Prepare monthly reconciliationsWhat You'll Need:Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in accounting CPA certification preferredMinimum of 4 years of accounting experienceEffective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environmentProficient in all applications of the Microsoft Office suite Advanced skills with the use of Microsoft Excel Knowledge of revenue recognition, preferably ASC 605 and ASC 606, or aptitude to read accounting guidance and learnStrong functional knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and other regulatory requirements, with SEC experience preferredExcellent organizational skills Strong analytical skillsDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlinesSelf-motivated, able to work in a team and independentlyAbout ComscoreAt Comscore, we're pioneering the future of cross-platform media measurement, arming organizations with the insights they need to make decisions with confidence.
