This position is contingent upon contract award and will be located in Aberdeen, MD. Contract award expected May 2022 with contract start in August 2022. The Systems Engineer serves as an expert and assists lower-grade personnel and provides technical guidance and information to meet requirements. Review, assist and mentor lower-grade employees work for quality, accuracy of work. Provide high level subject matter expertise in systems engineering activities to ensure the PEO IEWS is compliant with program requirements and objectives, interoperability requirements, configuration management requirements, and similar Program-Wide responsibilities, including, but not limited to: * Capabilities analysis * Leadership and Education, Personnel and Facilities (DOTMLPF) efforts * Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and Cyber Capability Integration and Development System (CCIDS) * System and/or software integration * Platform integration * Interoperability with various Command, Control, and Communications (C3) systems * Technical or operational testing * Sustainment and refreshment of capabilities * Configuration management * Planning and strategy meetings * Program review and coordination meetings * General systems engineering, systems implementation planning and system test and evaluation services * Prepare specifications, plans, analyses, modeling, simulations and reports * Review engineering output in the areas of systems level operation and maintenance procedures, performance improvements criteria, tools assessments, metrics management, quality assurance, configuration management, technical orders, and maintenance practice * Conduct systems engineering trade-off analysis KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND ABILITY: Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness. Apply and/or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts. Viewed as an expert in the field. Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives. PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Develops information, which extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories, and products. FREEDOM TO ACT: Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Plans RD programs and recommends technological application programs to accomplish long-range objectives. Work is reviewed only to the effectiveness of results obtained, typically requiring a long-term perspective. Virtually self-supervisory. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations' effective achievement of objectives. IMPACT: Designs research and develops highly advanced new applications resulting in new product/business opportunities for the company. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would have a long-term negative effect on organization's reputation and business posture. LIASON: Serves as consultant to top management in long-range company planning concerning new or projected areas of technological research and advancements. Prime spokesperson on company's technical capabilities and future directions. Often instrumental in attracting and obtaining major new company business. *Qualifications* EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Masters degree or PhD in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or related scientific or technical discipline; a minimum of fifteen (15) years related experience with a Masters; or twelve (12) Years related experience with a PhD. * Four (4) additional years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for PhD education level (ie 4 ADDITIONAL years in lieu of a PhD) CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: * Must have a Top Secret with SCI eligibility COVID Policy: Prospective and/or new employees will be required to adhere with SAIC's vaccination policy.
