NCOA, a national voice for every American's right to age well, has an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Design Specialist , in its Arlington, VA office. This person will be a key member of the Marketing and Communications team. This position communicates ideas and concepts visually through graphic design, layout, illustration, photography, and iconography. Working with the Sr. Director, the incumbent will design and implement graphics and visual assets that enhance NCOA's vision, mission, communications, and user experiences in both digital and print media. NCOA will rely on the incumbent to design/layout reports, presentations, and infographics; sketch or modify artwork and illustrations; source and size photos; and assist with video creation for use on websites, social media, and paid media channels. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all staff follow NCOA's established Brand Guidelines and will collaborate with team members across the organization to exchange ideas and actualize design concepts. Ideal candidate will: Helps define and drive the vision for all creative visual content, design, assets, and experiences. Participates in campaign brainstorming and concepting sessions and creates marketing materials for digital and print platforms. Supports digital activation campaigns with visually compelling and effective assets (fundraising, marketing, messaging, brand engagement, advertising). Works closely with copywriters, editors, communications strategists, and project stakeholders to lead design projects from initial conception to in-market executions. Manages timelines and priorities as part of a cross-functional team and meets tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborates across marketing channels and internal departments to launch and track creative assets. Designs original pieces, including illustrations and infographics, and manages all stock photos and graphic assets. Manages and archives all NCOA graphic design files on the cloud and second onsite backups. Ensures brand consistency throughout all marketing projects and across all mediums and channels. Stays up to date with industry developments and tools. Other duties as assigned. Ideal education & experience should include: Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, or equivalent field with 5+ years of experience in graphic design; agency experience preferred. Mastery in a variety of design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Premier Pro or Aftereffect a plus. Working knowledge of printing and pre-press, Office 365 (Word and PowerPoint), CMS workflow environments (Kentico preferred), and digital file management via MS Teams and SharePoint. Animation skills and support for web-ready graphics for UX/UI via Figma a plus. First-class attention to details (visual, typographical, other) and strong aesthetic skills. Ability to skillfully manage multiple, diverse projects; be responsive to real-time demands; and meet deadlines with tight turnarounds. Experience with project management tools (eg Wrike, MS Project) preferred. Ability to follow established processes and procedures, including workflow between teams and external clients. Strong oral and written skills to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders. NCOA is an equal opportunity employer.
