Job Overview: The Systems Engineer will design, configure and install network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls; configure network devices to deliver services such as VPN and QoS services; perform network maintenance task as needed; perform system upgrades; monitor system performance; create network designs that maximize system availability and reliability; monitor system resource utilization; conduct capacity planning; provide tier 2/3 technical support; troubleshoot issues related to, but not limited to, network performance and network outages; work within established policies and processes when making configuration changes; comply with the sponsor's security requirements; work during core hours (0900-1500 Monday - Friday). The Engineer will work outside of core hours as required by the Customer; work from home at the unclassified level as required by the Customer and operate in Customer environments at various classification levels. Required skills and demonstrated experience: Certification: Active Cisco CCNA in Routing and Switching Demonstrated experience configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Cisco routers and switches Demonstrated experience working with IOS, IOS-XE, FTD, FXOS, and NX-OS Demonstrated experience managing and configuring network protocols including IPSEC, SNMP, Netflow, HSRP, BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF Demonstrated experience working with network security appliances such as IPS/IDS sensors Demonstrated experience working with physical, next-generation, firewalls Demonstrated experience working with virtual, next-generation, firewalls Demonstrated experience using network management tools Highly desired, though not required, include: Demonstrated experience with cloud-based networking services such as VPCs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, NAT Gateway Demonstrated experience using Splunk to analyze network device logs and identify anomalies Demonstrated experience with FireEye brand network security appliances and agents Demonstrated experience with network automation scripting tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Ansible and Cisco Network Service Orchestration Demonstrated experience developing applications to automate the configuration of network devices such as firewalls Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor's foreign and domestic WAN services Demonstrated experience configuring and troubleshooting on-premises and hybrid-cloud DNS systems J5 Consulting offers excellent benefits and compensation packages .
