Job Announcement

Performs receptionist and administrative program-wide related work as required and performs other duties as needed as a member of the administrative staff of the Office for Children and School Age Child Care (SACC) Program. Responds to requests for information from SACC teachers, school principals, county staff, and the public regarding enrollment, registration policies, fees, and program procedures via the telephone, fax, and email. Also, works directly with clients to enter enrollments and fee calculations in the SACC database for over 14,000 families. Maintains and evaluates database systems and provides analysis of data for improved processes and systems. Performs clerical and administrative duties requiring Microsoft Word.

Illustrative Duties

  • Maintains/updates information on available human services and obtains information on new services;
  • Collects and presents information regarding client dissatisfaction or misuse of services;
  • Collects, formats and presents program statistics for reports and program assessments.


Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the basic principles of human behavior;
  • Knowledge of word processing and data management programs (Excel, survey software)
  • Ability to communicate effectively to clients;
  • Ability to organize information and records;
  • Ability to communicate in written format.


Employment Standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience and training equivalent to graduation from high school or GED issued by state department of education; plus three years of work experience, including two years in some area of human services (related two-year [associate] degree may be substituted for the required human service experience).

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background and Child Protective Services Registry check to the satisfaction of the employer. A TB screening upon hire.

All newly hired employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two weeks after the last required dose) as a condition of employment or obtain approval of a medical or religious exemption prior to their start date. Proof of an exemption or vaccination status will be required during the pre-employment onboarding process. New employees who obtain an exemption from the vaccine mandate for medical or sincerely held religious beliefs will still be subject to the weekly testing requirement. Vaccinated employees and employees with a medical or religious exemption will complete the attestation online on their first day of employment or shortly thereafter.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Experience with computers, including databases and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Knowledge of the basic principles of human behavior and effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Experience using automated technology.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally sedentary in nature. Ability to walk, stand, bend, and carry items up to 25 pounds. Ability to operate keyboard-driven equipment and communicate verbally and in writing. Sufficiently mobile to attend meetings at various locations and make presentations to county staff and community. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
