Position Description
Sparks Group has partnered with a company located in Arlington, VA that operates nationally in healthcare staffing. Our client works with federal agencies to deploy healthcare workers to many different areas as needed, and is in need of a a qualified Credentialing Specialist to provide corporate contract support on assigned contracts/projects.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Establishes excellent rapport with Program Managers, recruiters, and off-site employees/candidates.
  • Is viewed as the "go-to" person by the client for guiding and managing credentialing, security, health assessment activities, identifying and mitigating issues, and solutions that address the customer's most pressing challenges, or, has a close working partnership with the onsite Program Manager (PM) who is viewed as such.
  • Learns, understands and articulates the mission, business drivers, and operational needs and uses that knowledge to assist the PM/Deputy Director or AVP with new ideas and/or solutions when responding to RFPs.
  • Is persistent and creative in finding resources to meet the customer's needs.
  • Successfully manages all activities associated with government credentialing and re-credentialing, (if required by the contract) of healthcare providers including ensuring the correct forms are sent to the candidate/employee either via email or regular mail. Provides instruction in a timely manner, to ensure all information is returned as promptly as possible and forwarded to the customer, timely and accurately.
  • Is a lead in the credentialing area, managing the policies and procedures and the Cactus database. Ensuring all Primary Source Verifications (PSV) are completed timely, accurately, entered into the database and completed within the corporate goals set.
  • Provides weekly Status Reports on candidates credentialing onboard process. Reports are run upon request or as required by the customer.
  • Follows all Standard Operating Policies (SOP) in a professional timely manner, providing functional expertise on an ongoing basis.
  • Runs monthly reports on all employees who will have licenses which are ready to expire within the next 3 months and follows up with the Program Manager/Deputy Director and employee to ensure receipt of updated license for our records.
  • Ensures correct credentialing forms are sent to the candidate/employee either via email or regular mail. Providing instruction in a timely manner, to ensure all information is returned as promptly as possible and forwarded to the customer, timely and accurately.
  • Ensures all activities of the process are entered into the Cactus database, ongoing. Reports of the status of a candidate are run weekly and/or upon request.
  • Successfully manages all activities associated with government health assessment, e.g., Titers, Physicals etc. (if required by the contract) of healthcare providers ensuring the correct forms are sent to the candidate/employee either via email or regular mail. Providing instruction in a timely manner, to ensure all information is returned as promptly as possible and forwarded to the customer, timely and accurately.
  • Runs monthly reports on all employees who will have titers, etc. which are ready to expire within the next 3 months and follows up with the Deputy Director/Program Manager and employee to ensure we receive updated health assessment information for our records.
  • Manages all activities associated with government Healthcare credentialing on-boarding processes. The credentialing and health assessment packets are to be submitted as soon as possible to the customer, notifying the Deputy PM or PM managing the contract. In some instances, the Agency allows separate submission as they become available. In these cases, the submission will be expedited.
  • Ensures all submissions are noted within Cactus and all documents have been scanned and attached to the candidate/employee record.
  • Manages all activities associated with government Healthcare credentialing on-boarding processes in the Cactus database.
  • Ensures all records are up to date, active and terminations according to the HR management reports. Ensures all records are correct according to their contract and reconciles with the Deputy PM/PM managing the contract.
  • Works closely with Cactus Technical and IT support to ensure the latest versions have been installed.
  • Provides administrative logs, when appropriate, ensuring the integrity of the company's data is following HIPAA regulations of privacy.
  • Exhibits or develops functional expertise in the area of credentialing and provides "brown bag" educational sessions to the Deputy PM, PM's, AM's, PMA's on the Healthcare credentialing on-boarding process to provide colleagues with knowledge when meeting with the clients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
  • Analytical Reasoning, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving and Independent Decision Making.
  • Proficient in Cactus, MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio, MS Project and MS Access a Plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Required Experience:
  • At least 1 - 3 years of functional expertise in credentialing.
  • Technical Expertise in government credentialing.
  • Functional expertise including knowledge of credentialing accreditation bodies, NCQA, JCAHO and all databases utilized to scan for PSV, e.g. NPDB, etc.
Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, etc.) is a plus.
