Summary

This position is located in the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI). The incumbent is responsible for implementing and managing comprehensive Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), diversity, and inclusion programs throughout NCUA.

Responsibilities

As a Deputy Director, Office of Minority and Women Inclusion (OMWI), you will:
  • Along with the OMWI Director, ensure that NCUA takes affirmative steps to seek diversity and inclusion in the workforce at all levels.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction in assessing the effectiveness of NCUA's equal employment opportunity program.
  • Serve as a key advisor to NCUA personnel on a broad range of diversity, inclusion and EEO matters
  • Assist the OMWI Director in developing, implementing and monitoring the progress towards the inclusion and utilization of minority-and-women-owned businesses in NCUA programs and contracts.
  • Promote and assess diversity and inclusion programs in credit unions.
  • Provide supervision of office staff.

Qualifications

To qualify at the CU-15 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU/GS-14 level in federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).
This experience must include all of the experience below: 1) Supervising or leading staff or teams; 2) Developing diversity and inclusion strategies; 3) Preparing written materials; 4) Providing guidance and advice to others regarding diversity and inclusion; 5) Researching and applying EEO policies, regulations, procedures, etc.; and 6) Providing EEO advice and consultation to managers or employees.

If selected for an interview, you may be required to provide and present a written product that you authored.

The ideal candidate, In addition to meeting the specialized experience, are considered those with a resume that provides sufficient details and performance history demonstrating experience in several of the items detailed below and will be able to provide distinct examples of this experience if interviewed:

- Senior level experience preparing and presenting written materials.
- Experience supervising and evaluating direct reports across a variety of programs.
- Experience advising senior management on diversity, equity and inclusion issues and solutions, and developing programs in these areas.
- Experience developing successful interoffice collaborations and working relationships within an organization.

Condition of Employment: As required by Executive Order 14043, Federal employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee's duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law. SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position.

Pay will be set using NCUA's compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes the locality rate for the Alexandria, Virginia geographical area. Please click here to review all salary ranges based on locality.

EXCEPTION: If you are a current non-supervisory NCUA employee and are selected for reassignment into a supervisory position, you may receive up to a 10% salary increase, not to exceed the National Pay Rate (NPR) of the pay grade. Management will consider your current salary in relation to the duties and responsibilities of the new position.
