Responsibilities

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing district-wide IT Help Desk customer support for the United States Attorneys Office, District of Columbia (USAO-DC). Participate in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of information technology assignments; and perform routine and recurring assignments in implementing Help Desk policies and procedures to provide office-wide IT customer support.

Typical work assignments will include:

* Maintaining internal/external websites, and participating in converting user-developed content into workable web pages using standard graphics mark-up languages;
* Providing advice and guidance on a wide variety of IT issues;
* Participating in conducting analyses and recommend resolution of issues affecting assigned specialty areas;
* Preparing and presenting reports;
* Representing the organization in interactions with other organizations throughout the office;

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.

Qualifications

To be qualified for the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, OR Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience are: knowledge of, and skill in applying network standards, protocols, procedures, and programs of an offices IT infrastructure; providing customer service and customer support principles and methods, training methods, and Intranet/Internet technologies, including programming languages and tools; applications of IT concepts, principles, methods, and practices; assisting in maintaining internal/external web sites, participating in converting user-developed content into workable web pages using standard graphics mark-up languages; assisting in the development, configuration, installation, and maintenance of information technology assignments; performing routine and recurring assignments in implementing Help Desk policies and procedures to provide office-wide IT customer support.

OR Education: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.

Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

OR Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 3 full years.

This position requires the ability to receive and retain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
