The Project Engineer develops proposals into projects by developing detail technical scopes of work, corresponding estimates and schedules to submit CAAPs as formal request for project funds, work with the operations team on development of the business case and influence the approval process.The project engineer is responsible for all aspects of approved project execution, including detail technical design, issuing technical specifications and for following standard project management techniques, managing vendors, contract engineers, and contractors for constructions, remodeling and equipment fabrication and installation. The Project Engineer is responsible for system FAT, commissioning and ramp up as well as transition to operations/maintenance (IQ, OQ, PQ) including documentation, training, spare parts and conducting post project review to measure results and document learnings.Throughout the process, the Project Engineer is accountable to work with the McCormick stakeholders for full engagement within the McCormick High Performance Organization framework. This will include stakeholders internal to the plants as well as external (ie sales, marketing, corporate QA, packaging engineering, North American Engineering, and corporate safety). The Project Engineer will have responsibility for multiple projects simultaneously.15%REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in EngineeringMinimum 5 years of project engineering experience in the manufacturing industry (Will consider a candidate with less experience if exceptional in other ways (ie relevant internships and academic achievements)Ability to read and interpret PFD and P&ID diagramsDemonstrated leadership, planning, organizing and communication skillsExperience managing multiple projects from the evaluation through implementation stagesExperience developing justification, scoping and managing capital projects to budgets and scheduleContractor management experience, including scoping the work, managing a bidding process, negotiations, field installation supervision, and change order managementExperience leading small and large project teamsAbility to follow up and prioritize project issues independently and juggle multiple projects with minimal supervision.Demonstrated ability to identify, troubleshoot, and solve technical problems.Proficient in Excel, Power Point, MS Project, Word, AutoCADMust have solid written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work weekends, varying shifts, holidays as project execution schedules may require.Travel will be approximately 10%, but may be higher during specific project phases (ie FAT)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience designing, installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial controls systems to include PLC's, HMI's, VFD's, Servo Controls, Robotics, and industrial networks (specifically Ethernet, Devicenet, Profinet and Profibus) preferredExperience with Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation controls. Wonderware/Active Factory experience a plus.Experience with Troubleshooting PLC controlled Mechanical Components.Ability to read and interpret electrical & panel/loop drawings.Project engineering experience in the food processing, pharmaceutical, and/or chemical processing industries.Knowledge of cGMP systems with a strong understanding of sanitary design conceptsExperience with dry and liquid processing, facilities, and packaging equipmentExperience with SAP or a similar ERP systemExperience with TPM especially in EEMMcCormick & Company is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
