We operate USO centers at or near military installations across the United States and throughout the world, including in combat zones, and even un-staffed USO service sites in places too dangerous for anyone but combat troops to occupy.The Coordinator, Content Marketing assists the Creative team in producing content for the USO's marketing and fundraising efforts across all channels.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Duties)Assist Creative team with writing copy; research subjects; source and select photos to pair with stories, video and other marketing collateral; brainstorm content ideas; flow content for into the CMS. *Review, organize, caption and catalogue footage/photos.*Assist with contributing fresh and creative content, ideas and concepts based on an understanding of the marketplace, competitors and customer/audience feedback.*Assist with proofing, editing and revising copy from internal clients and external vendors, with a focus on protecting the USO's brand and eliminating factual errors.*Other duties as assigned.Job SpecificationsBachelor's Degree in journalism, marketing, English or equivalent degree.1-3 years of experience in content marketing or writing experienceComfortable writing both actionable short-form copy (eg, subject lines, Facebook ads, etc.) and more complex storytelling (eg, blog posts, case studies, etc.)Meticulous attention to detail, ability to multi-task and strong organizational skillsKnowledge of SEO best practices and how to write SEO-optimized content; experience in writing for a mobile platform is a plus.Experience with digital media platforms, advertising metrics and industry trends is a plus.Strong interpersonal, organizational, customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to interact with USO Leadership, the general public and military audiences with integrity and professionalism.Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment related to controversial and/or culturally sensitive subjects. Ability to handle confidential information with tact and poise.Initiative, self-motivation, and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities. Ability to quickly and easily adapt to changing organizational needs. Can work both independently and collaboratively.Ability to obtain and maintain proper credentials necessary to access USO Center locations and facilities including but not limited to security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, valid driver's license.Must be a strong advocate of the USO's mission.Details:This position is located in Arlington, VA. Preference will be given to local candidates within commuting distance to the location.USO locations will adhere to local area and DOD guidelines regarding COVID vaccination/testing requirements.
