IPMA-HR was founded in 1906 and is a 501c3 association whose members work in public sector human resource management. The organization is at a pivotal point in recognizing and delivering new programs and initiatives for its members. The Director of Membership, working with other key functional departments, will provide strong leadership in identifying, developing and delivering programs and member benefits which enhance the membership experience. Description: The Director of Membership develops and implements analytics?driven membership strategies for IPMA-HR. These strategies raise visibility and revenue for IPMA-HR membership benefits, initiatives, products, and other member services. Further, they serve to reinforce the value of IPMA-HR membership in ways that significantly strengthen IPMA-HR membership recruitment and retention, all while also working closely with other IPMA-HR departments to ensure the overall IPMA-HR membership experience is of the highest quality. Essential Responsibilities: Key areas of responsibility for the Director include increasing and strengthening IPMA-HR membership; providing departmental leadership; practicing good fiscal management; managing the IPMA-HR message and brand; helping to build a new digital IPMA-HR; enhancing external visibility efforts; and focusing on a strong member value proposition. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher required. At least 10 years of experience, including managing at a department level and at least 5 years in senior membership related roles. Must have demonstrated success in building membership loyalty. The ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis is essential. Prior association experience is preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and demonstrated project management skills. This position reports to the Executive Director . Work Environment Work is regularly performed in a 3-story office environment with no elevator. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time benefited exempt salaried position. Occasional evenings and weekend work may be required. IPMA-HR has a 35-hour work week. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, usual weekday hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm During the pandemic, the position will be fully remote. Post pandemic, the position may remain remote with regular travel to the office. Travel During the pandemic, no travel is expected. Post pandemic travel may be required.
