We are currently searching for a Heavy Equipment Operator to work within our Transportation division in Maryland/Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for operating: Mini-Excavators, Rubber Tire Backhoes, Skid Steers, and Digger Derricks. The Work:Commit to safe work there is nothing more importantOperate heavy construction equipment safely and efficiently.Maintain equipment and job site to eliminate possible hazards.Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans or specifications.Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed.Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.Provide assistance to other crew members.Assist in job layout, checking grade, scheduling and ordering of materials.Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment.Other duties as assignedHere's What You Need:Class A CDL a plus.Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasksJob requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations1-3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.Ability to read and follow design plans and specifications.Must be positive, and customer-service oriented.Ability to operate mini-excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and digger derricks.Bruce & Merrilees is not currently hiring individuals for this position who now or in the future require sponsorship for employment visa status.
