The Coordinator is responsible for assuring quality care for patients diagnosed with stroke and/or heart failure patients by coordinating the efforts of the hospital to meet their needs. To increase the quality of patient care by educational and QI programs. To provide expert knowledge, leadership and education for individuals within the hospital. To develop educational programs to enhance the staff's knowledge of current trends in nursing. To develop, implement and maintain a quality improvement process for the stroke and heart failure patients in our hospital. To perform chart audits for quality improvement of documentation and risk reduction, in order to maintain and/or improve patient outcomes. To collaborate and assist the Cardiovascular Service Line Director in developing and implementing projects that enhances the quality of care for stroke and heart failure patients and their families. Qualifications Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing required; Master's degree preferred. Licensure: Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia Certification: BLS/ACLS Experience: Minimum of three years nursing experience in the critical care/neurosciences preferred. Knowledge of hospital and/or healthcare, including policies, standards, disease specific program management, accreditation, recognition, and certification programs. Clinical experience a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills required. Organized and detailed oriented, capable of handling multiple priorities, and working independently.
