Position: The Director of Nursing will assist in ensuring the delivery of exemplary care and customer service through coordinating, assessing, and monitoring the quality and efficiency of client care. The Director of Nursing is responsible for ensuring compliance of nursing care policies, procedures, and systems, as well as the direct management of the assistant director of nursing and team of PT and FT nurses. Responsibilities will include supporting the admissions process for all new clients; overseeing and addressing the daily care needs of clients; providing leadership training to the nursing team and ensuring full coverage of all care team shifts. Duties include, but are not limited to: Oversee the team of nurses who administer medications, tend to injuries, respond to seizure activity, provide g-tube feedings, and handle all medical emergencies. Oversee the administrative portion of medical paperwork, regulatory forms, admission of new clients, and Medicaid waiver assessments Oversee nursing regulations and policies and procedures that relate the nursing care provided Oversee the clinical care and admissions of all new clients Participate in Quality Improvement meetings and identify potential areas of risk Review all client applications and determine medical eligibility and coordinate care for clients with complex medical diagnosis Strategic program initiatives Experience: 5 years of direct acute care or pediatric nursing experience 1-2 years of supervisory/leadership experience (charge nurse, team lead, educator, etc.) Experience with non-profits and/or individuals with special needs (Preferred) Experience with DBHDS regulations a plus. Skills: Strong clinical skills for quick decision-making in urgent medical situations, as well as determine eligibility of medically complex clients Autonomous and takes initiative Ability to think through processes to update/create as needs of organization change Organized and detail-oriented
