Simply put, we offer advertisers a one-stop shop for global programmatic solutions to help increase yield through a rich and broad set of platforms, formats, and technologies.A Little About You:We need a Backend Software Engineer to accelerate of building critical features into the Yahoo SSP in order to retain critical clients; enable sales to bring new clients on quickly and efficiently. Every time you see an ad on the internet, an auction is run across all of the advertisers that are potentially interested in paying for your attention at that moment in time. The Yahoo SSP team in Baltimore makes the software that runs those auctions. We run millions of auctions in a second and we make billions of $ for our company. Our software is high scale and high availability. We have interesting problems and we have fun solving them. Your day to day work would include building next generations big data solutions, reporting, brand safety and fraud detection platforms and supporting a multi-billion-dollar business while working with groundbreaking technologies in both our own Data Centers and the AWS Cloud. We are looking for a talented Java engineer to work on our backend ad serving systems and help us build the features needed to support our customers.JOB DESCRIPTION:Use Java to create the SSP's auction processing systems and RESTful APIs that support our UI.Look for ways to optimize the code to ensure the SSP performs within our customer's SLA requirements.Analyze business and technical requirements and design solutions that meet those needs.Collaborate with programmers both on their team and on other teamsCollaborate with product managers to develop and clarify requirements.Troubleshoot production issues related to the team's applications.Effectively manages day-to-day tasks in an Agile process to meet scheduled commitments.Write unit tests and specification documents ]SKILLS AND EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree.2+ years of experience designing and programming Javascript based web applications.Experience with developing fast and responsive Java ApplicationsKnowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, SQLMust have strong programming and debugging skills.Must have a solid understanding of object oriented programming.Must have a working knowledge of application design and development processes and methodologies.Excellent problem-solving skills.Familiar with software design methods and techniques.Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.Familiarity with a Javascript framework is a plus.Yahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
