Job Description RESPONSE SENIOR CARE LLC Job title: Director of NURSING (Registered Nurse) Work Location: Anne Arundel County, MD Reports to: Owner Hours: Less than 10 hours per week Monday - Friday. On Call as scheduled Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The RN is responsible for the nursing functions of the agency including the supervision of CNA's, GNA's and Home Health Aides. The RN director is the "RN of Record"A' for the agency for all nursing services provided. A' . Responsible for the supervision of all nursing functions and staff. A' . Assesses all prospective care recipients in the home(clients regarding level of care, determination of admission, level of care and appropriateness of nursing care within the scope of the agency). A' . In conjunction with the Owner, responsible for the hiring, discharge, supervision, monitoring, disciplinary actions of nursing personnel adhering to the Federal, State and Local Employment and Human Resource laws and regulations A' . Coordinates all nursing care with the Owner and Office Manager. A' . Review all prospective clients, new admissions, monitor ongoing cases, termination of services, and client/family concerns. A' . Develops and implements Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement measures. A' . Standardly reviews all client cases every 90 days in the home. Reassesses client changes related to physical, mental, nursing, emotional, medical, medication or relevant changes in the client as deemed necessary. A' . Provides educational training sessions for all staff, families, general public as requested or necessary. A' . Rotates after hour calls with agency staff as determined by the Owner. A' . Perform related duties as assigned by Owner. A' . Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Nursing and Homecare. A' . Reports all concerns to the Owner. A' . Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: A' . Experience working with clients and staff in a homecare setting. A' . Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers A' . Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook, QuickBooks, ClearCare) A' . Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service A' . Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices A' . Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Maryland A' . Prefer 5 or more years in home health care setting Physical Requirements: A' . Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. A' . Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards A' . Ability to provide nursing services/supervise nursing staff in the various environments (client home/neighborhood, healthcare settings and impoverished communities). A' . Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs A' . Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone A' . Must be able to travel to clients homes.
