African Ancestry is looking for a critical thinker who understands the importance of Black history and culture. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, highly effective at making data-driven decisions and comfortable with the fast-paced results-oriented nature of a fast-growing e-commerce business. You are committed to achieving and exceeding goals and can prioritize the type of egoless collaboration that improves the African Ancestry customer experience.Location: Primarily remote in 2021 with in-person meetings as needed and requested; in-office as of 2022.Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Marketing Manager duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Acquisition, Retention & Monetization - All the strategy and content you create is to either acquire new customers, retain existing customers, create customer value, and/or generate revenue.Create, evaluate, and maintain an e-commerce marketing strategy that aligns marketing efforts across platforms.Achieve goals and execute priorities outlined by the Head of Marketing.Write external emails, blogs, social media, downloadable content.Direct, plan, and coordinate segmented e-commerce marketing campaigns.Manage customer and analytics data in CRM.Maintain all web pages - including shopping carts - with relevant information on a regular basis.Manage activation and social amplification events that drive traffic to e-commerce channels.Engage with internal team members to communicate customer insights.Monitor current trends, approaches, and competitors within the direct-to-consumer genetic testing industry.Identify and manage external partnerships.Manage at least one other Marketing professional.Manage select marketing partners including brand management, social media, public relations, paid ads, and user experience.Analyze and align marketing strategies to defined key performance indicators.Monthly Performance Reporting - including review of sales, web analytics, paid social, and email campaigns on an ongoing basis.The ideal candidate for the Marketing Manager position will have the following background and skills:Bachelor's degree required.Experience thriving in a lean business start-up environment.Experience with E-Commerce marketing and development.Experience marketing to the African American/African Diasporic consumer.
