Endoscopy is a procedure that allows doctors to visually examine internal organs, including the esophagus (throat), stomach and intestines, using an endoscope-a long, thin tube with a camera on the tip. Various gastrointestinal problems-such as pain in the stomach or abdomen, difficulty swallowing, vomiting, indigestion, tumors and ulcers-can be investigated with endoscopy. It can also be used for some treatments, such as removing polyps or taking tissue samples for analysis. The Clinical Coordinator as the assistant to the Department Director performs a dual role - clinical and administrative.A' He/she is responsible for identifying the need for, implementing and complying with all unit and hospital standards.A' The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for clinical and administrative decisions on the unit during the absence of the Nursing Director.A' He/she supervises all caregivers on the unit and service as a role model to staff.
