Mayvin is currently seeking a Legislative Affairs Analyst to provide support for Department Homeland Security Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction. The candidate will provide policy, research, creative, and strategic support for the CWMD Front Office and executive senior leadership. This position provides legislative analytic support in important WMD issues, and requires a working knowledge of the manner in which the legislative branch interacts with federal government offices like CWMD.Responsibilities:Identifies, analyzes, and tracks WMD legislative trends.Researches, drafts executive summaries, reviews background material (congressional quarterly, Bloomberg.gov) and blog posts, and conducts analysis on WMD developments.Track and report on congressional hearings, briefings, legislation mark-ups, and floor action to senior Legislative staff, as necessary.Ensure that responses to Congressional inquiriesincluding Questions for the record, fact sheets, and prepared talking points for briefingsare organized in a system that is easily retrievable.Tracking Congressional Requests for Information (RFIs).Coordinates and supports other special projects as needed.Preparing read-ahead materials for senior leadership meetings.Monitors developments and trends in legislation, and responds to client requests for legislative and policy guidance.Analyzes and synthesizes information, and provides time-critical reports and updates to executive leadership.Support the timely submission of required compliance documentation to government agencies.Conduct research and produce reports, providing analysis and recommendations for the government leadership;The legislative program analyst supports the coordination of functions for effective communications with the US Congress, including budget and appropriations; advocating, tracking and reporting relevant legislative actions; and engagement with internal and external audiences regarding legislative priorities.Must have BA/BS with 5-10 years of experience in related fieldMinimum of 3 years specialized experience in legislative affairs.Knowledge of Congress and experience working with or for a Congressional member or Committee (Committee experience preferred).Prior experience assisting with drafting and executing legislative strategies.Ability to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines, and to multitask in a challenging environment.Superior oral and written skills.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in teams.Ability to work independently.Knowledge of MS Office Suite programs (including but not limited to Excel, Word and PowerPoint).COVID Vaccine Certification is required to secure a position with Mayvin Inc.
