The work is reviewed for technical adequacy and satisfaction of requirements as required.The incumbent will train and be assisted by lower level technicians, and perform one or a combination of the following:Analyzes systems, major units, devices, or equipment; conducts tests or experiments; analyzes results and recommends modifications and design drawings to evaluate system performance.Review guidelines, specifications, and develop designs. Analyzes technical data to determine applicability to design problems; thereafter recommend systems improvements.Develop Systems tests to evaluate equipment performance. Determines test requirements, equipment modification, and test procedures; conducts tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results, and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Job Functions:Manage testing requirements, to include, but not limited to: HVAC Testing, Building Commissioning Testing, Air and Water Balancing Testing, Indoor Air Quality sampling and testing, Boiler and Chiller testing. Review results and address deficiencies.Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Mechanical, ie meet deliverables and objectives, generate punch lists, develop scopes of work, collaborate with customer and contractors, identify root cause, troubleshooting and technical support, dispute claims resolution, assist with mechanical technical task orders (TTO), attend pre-bid walkouts, assist with annual steam outage.Review maintenance plans and operating procedures for accuracy. Incumbent will facilitate communication and activities related to correcting deficiencies that do not align with manufacturer and industry standards/recommendations for effective equipment life expectancy.Assist in performing technical and operation reviews of design drawings, study and investigation service and technically review construction contractor material submittals.Generate and facilitate Requests for Information (RFI) to clarify and correct Mechanical procedures/work.Assist to develop Mechanical training program. Consistently and effectively train, teach, and mentor field technicians in all areas of Mechanical.Conduct root cause analysis of equipment failures and corrective actions and provide training as warranted.Provides and executes standards and criteria for specialized, difficult, or unusual project requirements.Coordinate projects with other disciplines. Applies knowledge of other disciplines to determine coordination effort required to address various design considerations.Maintains current knowledge of emerging technologies for program development.Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. Observes that federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and environment are strictly adhered to in the programming, design, and construction of real property facilities.May occasionally be required to operate Government or Company owned motor vehicles and/or other equipment.Perform duties such as (but not limited to) file maintenance, workspace cleanup, maintain warehouse space and telephone answering as required.Job Requirements:Mandatory:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma or trade school license.Journeyman level certificate or equivalent or professional engineer license in a mechanical discipline.CFC Universal certification.At least 7 years of experience or an equivalent combination of skills, education, and experience in the fields of Mechanical.Adequate technical knowledge and aptitude in the Mechanical field, ie HVAC equipment, Building Control Systems, Chillers, Motors, Pumps, Test and Balancing, Calibration, Boilers, Steam PRV's, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, Steam Stations to perform high level troubleshooting.Experience with building automation software application programs.Working knowledge of the International Mechanical (IMC) Codes.Strong communication skills.Knowledge of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures.Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, and procedures to a variety of situations and to recommend timely and economical solutions.Ability to plan and organize work and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.Ability to adequately utilize Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word to perform job duties.U.S. Citizenship.Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.Valid state driver's license.Reasonable Accommodation:It is CGS, LLC business philosophy and practice to provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
