Responsibilities

As a SUPERVISORY MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SPECIALIST, you will:
  • Advise the Assistant General Counsel for the Field Management and IT Division and the Departmental Enforcement Center (DEC) Director in long range planning concerning the field of information technology systems and applications.
  • Evaluate existing systems and applications and determine current and future information technology needs and requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Departmental Enforcement Center and other OGC managers to enable them to realize the maximum potential of management information systems (MIS)/applications, including SharePoint sites.
  • Supervise the development and implementation of MIS, obtain user feedback, and ensure that training for the appropriate program users is conducted properly for all OGC systems and applications.
  • Arrange for demonstration of state-of-the-art information system technologies to top management staff and OGC senior leadership.
  • Coordinate and form a variety of innovative approaches for new systems and provide options and customization to meet program managers' requirements.

  • Qualifications

    You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

    Specialized experience for the GS-15 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-14 level, or equivalent that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

    Specialized experience is defined as:

    -Providing technical advice and guidance on data processing and IT development projects and software issues affecting the program office; AND
    -Conducting analysis of information technology including SharePoint and Office 365 administration and development projects to assist in determining the nature of system requirements and whether new systems/applications or enhancements should be developed; AND
    -Assisting in developing and implementing data processing methods and techniques which are utilized in management information activities; AND
    Drafting the necessary procurement documentation and packages for IT systems and applications; AND
    -Experience assisting attorneys and paralegals in IT or electronic discovery.


    Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
