Summary

This position is located in the Office of External Affairs, Department of the Chief Executive Officer, in Washington, DC. The incumbent provides stakeholder training, resources, and best practice guidance to decentralized teammates via email and SMS content. Working in partnership with Media, Web, Social Media and Marketing teammates, the incumbent ensures messaging is integrated across all channels and aligns with brand, tone, and grammar style guide.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading agency-wide email ideation, production, scheduling, and deployment.
  • Tracking, assessing and reporting email performance metrics; makes recommendations for improving deliverability, expanding engagement and growing distribution lists.
  • Ensuring email content is relevant and accurate and consistent with agency brand and communications guidelines.
  • Developing, sharing, and maintaining email calendar, testing plan, list management and segmentation processes; providing guidance on needed updates to agency broadcast email contract, tools and resources.
  • Serving as point of contact with contracted broadcast email services vendor.
  • Providing agency-wide guidance related to use, development and retirement of email templates, timeline and review processes, and list hygiene.
  • Deploying email campaigns via multiple platforms.
  • Developing presentations about email program for various audiences, incorporating marketing trends, best practices, partners, and historical data.
  • Cross-training staff from other departments on the use of multiple email platforms.
  • Participating in campaign and project kick-off meetings to develop, schedule, secure and prepare email deliverables.

    Qualifications

    Applicants must have one year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the lower range of the NY-02 pay band, which would be at or equivalent to, the GS-07 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: 1) creating and segmenting email lists, 2) designing and writing email content and 3) utilizing multiple platforms to release email campaigns.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps VISTA) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Education

    You may qualify for this position based on education.

    Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

    You may also qualify based on a combination of education and experience, if applicable.
