Summary

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the IT Assets Specialist for Information Technology Department with responsibility for property accountability processes and procedures associated with end-user IT devices. .

Responsibilities

As a IT Assets Specialist at the GS-0301-12 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serves as the IT Asset Specialist for IT with responsibility for property accountability processes and procedures associated with end-user IT devices.
  • Informs management of property management findings, issues or problem, and review property management records to ensure they are accurate, current and maintained in accordance with organizational directives.
  • Responsible for the overall property accountability management process for system wide supply operations from initial plan through acquisition, storage, issue, repair, maintenance and utilization or disposal of IT assets.
  • Manages the day-to-day controls and requirements of the property custodian of IT end-user devices and ensures proper management and accountability of government IT property, at the activity level, the organization's accountable property, and financial records for government property. This includes maintaining a complete trail of all transactions, suitable for audit, and the ability to implement and adhere to associated internal controls.
  • Provides analytical support and oversight on IT Asset management functions.
  • Recommends policies, procedures; changes and coordinates their implementation with management and staff across functional elements relating to asset management.
  • Performs critical review, evaluations and apprises management on special emphasis projects relating to IT assets to assure goals, objectives and timelines are appropriately achieved.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Serving as a Property Custodian for an Agency with responsibility for overall property accountability management processes for system wide supply operations.
  • Working with Defense Property Accountability System and various other automated supply systems to track and manage end-user IT equipment.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
