This includes, new loan requests, modifications and ensure annual reviews are completed in timely manner. This position will underwrite loans in accordance with Apple's credit philosophy and culture while maintaining focus on risk tolerance, growth, and profitability objectives. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, sound judgement and attention-to-detail. Will work hard to meet deadlines and produce consistent and timely results. Will have sound knowledge of credit and collateral analysis, cash flow, LTV requirements and liquidations. Knowledge of all facets of commercial banking, including origination, processing, and closing. This position serves as the critical central touch point for building and maintaining business relationships with the goal of always exceeding member expectations. This position will work closely with loan servicing and operations. This role is not remote . Responsibilities: Provides highest level of service to commercial members in person and over the phone and all facets of commercial banking and credit underwriting and portfolio management, including research and analysis, credit investigations, inquiries, credit analysis on new and existing portfolio loans, and overall portfolio analytics. Detail oriented, must balance credit quality with production and timeliness of deal turnaround, must executed on deadlines and deliver results. Prepares and presents Credit Memo for Apple's Commercial Service Loan Committee. Must be able to work a deal from beginning to end. Underwrite commercial real estate and C&I business loans for lines of credit and other working capital needs. Interface with borrowers during the underwriting and due diligence period to collect information and discuss challenges and opportunities Compile independent data and form conclusions on market conditions, business industries, management, property condition, and sponsor capabilities. Knowledge of CoStar and STAR reports helpful. Conduct income underwriting, cash flow analysis, credit reviews, business plan, and track record due diligence Perform financial analyses including personal cash flow reviews, business tax returns, proforma NOI, DSC calculations, repayment adequacy, and stress test analysis. Prescreen new prospects with lenders prior to submission into credit. Draft commitment letters for lenders. Must be credit strong, highly flexible, and willing to travel to support loan officers when needed. Works with Relationship managers and business development officers to establish loan terms and loan approval records and credit memo's for loan presentations. Prepares and tracks credit documentation and policy exceptions to Apple's Commercial Service Loan Committee. Makes underwriting recommendation and loan grade to Commercial Service Loan committee. Helps establish priority of loan pipeline for presentation, approval and closings. Helps to maintain third-party relationships to the Commercial Services Department, for example, updating and maintaining appraisal files, helps order appraisals and environmental reports when necessary, participations etc. Coordinates referrals to third-party providers, such as Business Credit/Debit Cards, Merchant Services, Small Business Administration Environmental Audits, etc. Provides training on Commercial Services to credit union staff members, co-workers, and new commercial service staff members when needed. Provides loan portfolio reports to lenders, senior management, and the Board of Directors. Makes recommendations concerning loan policy and procedures. Reviews adequacy of loan loss reserve. Schedules loan reviews to be completed in conformance with procedures. Provides commercial loan grades and ratifies existing loan classification. Helps manage loan reviews, assists as needed with external auditors, internal audit and NCUA examinations. Helps coordinate commercial loan work-outs, collateral evaluations and liquidations. Assists in the Participation of Commercial Loans. Reports unethical behavior to Management. Mitigates sources of Risk that could cause losses to the Credit Union. Provides Information upon request to lenders, senior management, and Board of Directors. Remains cognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performs other duties as assigned by the VP of Commercial Services. Qualification-all required unless otherwise noted : BA or BS in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field required. 7-15 years' experience in all facets of commercial loan origination, underwriting and servicing. Experience with Loan Workout/Special Assets is helpful, but not required. Familiar with commercial deposits and ancillary products and services. Knowledge of Symitar and Silverlake or similar financial services core processing data management system strongly preferred. Strong member/customer service orientation essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and ability to analyze and solve problems. Experience in commercial loan underwriting and structuring, loan documentation, and software systems, NCUA Part 723 Business Lending Regulations, some commercial law. Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with data entry. Ability to perform duties efficiently and effectively with accuracy and within designated timeframes. PC proficient, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel required). Knowledge of MS SharePoint preferred. Ability to function in a financial institution office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, fax, copier, telephone, postage machine, etc. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds (loan documents).
