Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly motivated professional to join the Controller's organization on the Benefits Reporting Team. This team is responsible for leading the company's benefit plan financial reporting process.This position will work directly with and report to the corporate manager of benefit plan reporting to manage the preparation of Northrop's 11-K savings plan filings for submission to the SEC as well as our various pension and health and welfare plan filings with the DOL. This role requires coordination with multiple stakeholders, strong analytical and communication skills, and understanding of the latest DOL and ERISA regulatory developments that impact our filing and financial reporting requirements. We are looking for an individual that is proactive and can provide process improvements to maximize efficiencies in financial reporting.Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to: Prepare financial statements for various Savings, Pension, and Health and Welfare plans. Prepare trial balances and footnote support for various financial statements. Perform analytical reviews of benefit plan's financial statements. Compile data to support the preparation of the Form 5500s for benefit plans. Provide audit support and fulfill audit requests. Reconcile general ledger data to trust reports to help maintain the validity, completeness, and accuracy of the data. Provide support and analysis for overhead claims submission. Perform trust related accounting functions as needed. Support trust budget preparation and perform budget analysis. Complete ad hoc projects or data requests. This role may be filled at a Principal or Sr Principal levelBasic Qualifications:Principal level- Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 6 years of related experience OR Master's degree and 4 years of experience. Post Graduate Degree or CPA certification may be counted towards experience requirements. Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience, master's degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external groups. Sr Principal level- Bachelor's degree in accounting with a minimum of 10 years of related experience OR a Master's degree and 8 years of experience. Post Graduate Degree or CPA certification may be counted towards experience requirements. Master's degree or CPA may be traded for 2 years of experience, master's degree and a CPA may be traded to a total of 3 years of experience Public Accounting experience IF directly relevant may count for up to an additional year of experience for each year of relevant experience Preferred Qualifications: Certified public accountant (or in process). Knowledge of Workiva and SAP. Reporting and/or public accounting experience. Salary Range: 83600 - 125400 Salary Range 2: 103700 - 155500 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
