You will be a member of the MITRE team working in a multi-agency environment developing, coordinating, and implementing cyber security initiatives and policy across the 18 Intelligence Community agencies. You will support decision makers in our nation's top policy and infosec organizations. The ideal candidate brings the ability to explain and implement the best cybersecurity practices found in the government, public, and private sectors while being an objective, informed partner for government leaders who rely on MITRE's insight and expertise to advance the government's interests in the cybersecurity policy domain. This is a full-time position. This position requires an active/current security clearance: TS/SCI with Poly. Key Functions: Serve on-site as the cyber strategic advisor for multiple levels of senior government leadership. Explain how to apply Information Assurance (IA) policies, principals, and techniques to maintain information security and the integrity of information systems processing classified information. Serve as an interface between cutting-edge technical experts (MITRE and government) pairing mission needs with achievable policy decisions and outcomes. Provide cyber, analytic, and systems engineering thinking and expertise to refine organization and technology-specific plans and processes. Develop cyber risk management activities into US Government policy and instruction. Develop and maintain written and visual products for both internal and external audiences. Explain compliance activities with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS) documentation for security assessment and compliance activities. Basic Qualifications: Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances. Required Qualifications: Degree in Information Assurance, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related fields. Must possess active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance. Experience in cyber risk management and government policy experience. Experience working with senior level leadership across the government. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Information Assurance, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or related fields. Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience. Strong experience in government policy development and implementation. Strong experience in cyber policy, information assurance, information management, and knowledge management. Certification from CISSP, CISM, CISA, CCSP, or NCSF. Experience working with NIST RMF, NIST CSF, DoD 8500, CNSSI Instructions, Cybersecurity Executive Orders, NIST SP 800 Series instructions, and NISPOM. Other Requirements: Work Location: Candidates will be required to work at a primary location in McLean, VA, with periodic meetings throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
