Job Description Position Description: The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and Client Services. This person administers the monthly close process. This role also supports the Director of Finance and Client Services in preparing MD&A, Investor Reports, Financial Statements and other presentations as needed. This position offers the opportunity to work with all areas of the business through a variety of responsibilities. Job Responsibilities: Administer the monthly close process Maintain the fixed asset and depreciation schedules Generate draft financial statements for review Post journal entries and review postings of junior staff Perform monthly estimates and accruals Coordinate with outside accountants for the timely filing and payment of all tax returns Manage the accounts payable process Facilitate the annual budget process and variance forecasting Assist in audit preparation Maintain accounting policies in compliance with GAAP and up-to-date written procedures for all assigned areas of responsibility Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required Support and/or lead projects across multiple functional areas Cross train and coverage as required in payroll and billing Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Required Skills: Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and accounting software packages Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems, desire to take on advanced tasks Detail oriented, ability to multi-task, work independently and prioritize tasks Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial information to senior leadership Ability to understand business activities with a broader view than just the finance function Desire to learn about the industry and support the goals of the organization Education and Experience Required: BS in Accounting or Finance 2-3 years of accounting or finance experience This is an exempt position BS in Accounting or Finance 2-3 years of accounting or finance experience Powered by JazzHR VhnHUhTAyS
