Qualified candidates will have a creative, holistic, and systematic approach to problem-solving.Position Role:The Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC) Business Analyst falls under the purview of the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)). The analyst position supports the tracking, monitoring, and oversight of program controls to ensure mission success. Qualified candidates will be strong communicators who can help bring together DoD stakeholders and subject-matter experts (Government, academia, and industry) to provide cohesive recommendations to senior personnel within the Department of Defense. He or she will also be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with numerous other contractor teams in order to meet client-satisfaction goals, expectations, and objectives.The Acquisition Innovation Research Center (AIRC) was established in September 2020 by the Department of Defense (DoD) to infuse innovation and alternative methods needed to better respond to the rapid increase of technological advancements critical to today's warfighter. AIRC projects focus on researching acquisition policies and practices and applying new technologies to enhance decision making.Team Aeyon supports the AIRC Director and Government Executive Sponsors with management and oversight. The team provides support, coordination, planning, and assistance to achieve AIRC objectives.Responsibilities:Analyze, prepare, and develop critical documentation supporting the AIRC initiative: Write, review, and edit Government and Academic documents, presentations, legislation, and regulations to ensure they are Government-ready for final review and signature. Documents may be one-page read aheads, project reports, PowerPoint presentations, action memos, draft correspondences, etc. Documentation topics can range across a wide scope of program and project management and supply chain perspectives (eg acquisition, contracting, logistics, budgeting, data science, etc).Team Communication: Coordinate tasks with internal Team Aeyon and external AIRC and Government team; Provide regular status updates to Government officials; Serve as a liaison between the Government and researchers to ensure mutual understanding of assignments and facilitate forward progress.Leadership Support: Document notes and action items from meetings and provide to leadership, as necessary. Follow up and track actions to closure. Serve as the principal lead for keeping the Team Aeyon lead and Government Sponsors fully apprised of current and future status of workload requirements.Prepare daily and weekly updates, verbal and written, on the status of proposed, pending, and active AIRC tasks, communications, required legislative actions, issues and projects;Assist the AIRC Director with preparation for meetings, briefings, and reports to Defense senior leaders at the Flag and SES levels, and Congressional staff;Support the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of an annual project symposium to bring together Defense Acquisition leaders and Academia to solicit, assess, and select proposed new projects for research;Support the planning, coordination, promotion, and execution of quarterly AIRC Acquisition Innovation Advisor (AIA) meetings;Develop and maintain AIRC Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Assist the AIRC Team Leader with AIRC and Aeyon workload requirements (eg weekly, monthly, and other timeline-sensitive and contract-required reporting requirements).Experience Level:3-6 years in a business analysis or project management role.Knowledge and experience with OSD policies, processes, and procedures. Strong preference for prior experience within OUSD(A&S) or OUSD(Research and Engineering).Program management or acquisition management experience at the DoD, Uniformed Services, or Fourth Estate levels.Ability to effectively interface with senior DoD SES staff, academia, and industry in meetings, workshops, and forums.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree required.This position requires that candidates have and hold a DoD Secret Security Clearance.Tools and Proficiency Level:Microsoft Office Suite
