Responsibilities The Network Engineer provides network engineering support to the Joint Staff Support Center (JSSC) network team supporting Joint Operation Planning and Execution System (JOPES) and Global Command and Control System (GCCS). Both systems consist of multiple geographically separate enclaves of Cisco switches and Juniper firewall's managed remotely from Pentagon headquarters. This position is based in Washington DC CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum active Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an Active Top Secret/SCI. CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE (CCNA) Certification COMPTIA SECURITY+ Certification (or high 8570 certification) Role is primarily sustainment focusing on maintaining 100% availability of critical C2 systems while keeping up to date with software, STIGs, IAVM's, Visio documents and backups. Perform network management to include controlling, planning, allocating, deploying, coordinating, and monitoring the resources necessary for proper network operations, maintenance and services forthe JSSC. Configure and maintain Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Juniper firewall devices, and all associated network equipment, including creating/maintaining routing tables, access control lists (ACLs) and virtual local area networks (VLANs), in a diverse router and switch environment. Responsible for resolving service problems; performing expert maintenance; and installing configuring and testing all types of data communications equipment. Troubleshoot network hardware using test instruments and diagnostic programs. Other tasks include engineering solutions for DISA directed SIPRNET Access Migration transitions (BGP, ACL and WAN interface changes), providing Move Add Change support for local users and serving as a liaison to the local service provider USP) to meet the unique needs of high profile users . Qualifications BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5 - Related IT degree with hands on technical experience CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must have a minimum active Top Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an Active Top Secret/SCI. CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE (CCNA) Certification COMPTIA SECURITY+ Certification (or high 8570 certification) Juniper firewall experience preferred Network engineering experience. Cisco switch and router expertise. Juniper router experience. Knowledge of JOPES and GCCS. Master SMEs are required to possess industry standard certification in their primary. Documented experience with network administration operations to include configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewall devices, and all associated network equipment, as well as creating/maintain routing tables, Access Control Lists (ACLs) and virtual local area networks (VLANs) #LI-SJ1 #CJ
