This is an exciting opportunity to work with a team that engineers and implement upgrades and changes to critical IT systems and applications. This position is able to be worked remotely for candidates outside of the DC Metro area. The customer manages and maintains a roadmap of IT infrastructure projects and upgrades that are prioritized and tasked to support contractors. Major projects will include Azure and Microsoft Dynamics migrations, RedHat (RHEL) and Windows 10 operating system upgrades, JAVA Runtime Edition (JRE) updates across the enterprise, a full implementation of enterprise identity and access management (IAM) tools and associated services, datacenter migrations and more. These are just a few examples of the important tasks and projects for which the project manager in this position would be responsible for leading and managing. Project manager will provide leadership and direction to cross-functional project teams comprised of systems engineers, test engineers, systems administrators, database administrators, project sponsors and others. Responsible for scope, schedule, and quality performance of IT project teams. Responsibilities also include managing scope, coordinating stakeholder participation, assessing and mitigating risks, reporting progress against plan, and collecting lessons learned Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' of project management experience in a technical environment with a variety of IT systems. At least eight years of experience leading the execution of IT projects in a project or task manager role. PMP Certification required. Must also have broad knowledge of current information technology systems, infrastructures, and technologies.
