Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire a Histotechnologist who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. The Histotechnologist performs histology laboratory testing, other lab functions and duties for inpatients and outpatients according to Laboratory policy and procedures. Perform quality control and maintenance procedures in accordance with policy and participate in Laboratory Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement initiatives.

The Histotechnologist performs and documents all aspects of routine histology procedures in an efficient and superior manner that may include:

• Microtomy
• Embedding
• Immunohistochemistry
• Special Stains
• Routine staining
• Quality control functions
• Performs periodic maintenance and troubleshoots instruments as needed
• Verify and distribution of slides
• Non-GYN Specimen Preparation
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Histology and Immunohistochemistry.
• AS/BS in science related field.
• Well-organized, thorough and conscientious approach in performing duties.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve day to day conflicts/problems in a professional manner.
• Detailed oriented; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• HT/HTL (ASCP) certification preferred.

Minimum requirements:
High School diploma or GED required
Minimum 1-2 years pathology environment preferred
Completion of an approved Histology training preferred
