We embrace an entrepreneurial mindset, thinking outside of the box, expert storytelling, fierce collaboration and learning new things every day.The Role:Interdependence Public Relations is seeking to hire a director of broadcast media relations to support both the agency's impressive client roster and Chairman's brand. The ideal candidate will be a broadcast media relations maven with strong existing relationships with executive producers, producers and bookers at top mainstream media outlets - or has previous broadcast production/journalism experience. This candidate will love the thrill of the hunt, and creative about connecting with EP's, producers and bookers and getting them interested in story ideas tied to on air experts and talent. We are looking for an avid reader and viewer of all kinds of news who knows how to translate what they see into ideas for their own work. This is a rare opportunity to build experience across a range of clients, work directly with the agency's Chairman to help build visibility for his brand and accelerate your professional growth.The role will be responsible for both strategy and program execution. As a media pro, you will provide support to account team(s) and help lead the execution of media relations initiatives plus development of press materials. You'll be a part of the senior leadership team and work alongside the executive leaders across the organization.The Responsibilities:A' . Demonstrates expertise in broadcast media relationsA' . Communicates big picture logistics, creative story ideas and media tactics to teamA' . Craft media pitches using excellent writing skills, as well as your own unique vision; deA$ A' not A' nes and adjusts strategies appropriatelyA' . Provides direct counsel and is seen as a media expert plus a valuable partner by the clientA' . Drafts press materials (eg media pitches or press releases) requiring minimal edits from senior leadersA' . Writes and edits client materialsA' . Able to lead client meetings and presentations independentlyA' . Works alongside Chairman to build visibility for his brand and the agencyA' . Facilitates professional development opportunities for the agency (ie lunch and learns, etc.)A' . Leadership: take responsibility for own actions and be a team player. Lead the team to the common goal of producing innovative, creative and interesting media angles to gain interest of top-tier broadcast news outlets.A' . Seeks new development opportunities to refine skills and industry expertiseQualifications & Skills:A' . Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in journalism, communications, digital media or a related fieldA' . Preferably 5+ years of broadcast production, journalist experience, broadcast booking experience, or agency experience with demonstrated success of broadcast media placementsA' . Excellent news judgment, creative ideas, and writing skills a must.A' . Established contacts in broadcast media outlets and the ability to come up with unique story ideas.A' . Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyA' . Demonstrates exemplary follow-through and execution skillsA' .
