Job Description Summary Performs inspections, diagnosis, repairs, corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, and improvements on production equipment. Provides guidance to operators in support of equipment setup and may provide guidance to less experienced technicians.Job Description Responsibilities will include: Monitoring equipment performance / operation and proactively addressing issues. Assisting operations personnel during production startups, product changeovers, etc. Responding in a timely fashion to machine breakdowns. Working with shift supervisors to prioritize workload. Scheduling and executing assigned PMs with minimal supervision. Supporting installation and removal of equipment. Working with external contractors and vendors. Communicating issues between shifts and to management. Creating and updating work orders, parts usage, etc in MES/ERP. Performing other duties as assigned. The candidate will: Work in a safe fashion, considering both personal safety and the safety of those around. Work well in a team setting, both as part of a maintenance team and as part of a larger operations, engineering, maintenance, and quality team. Adhere to all BD policies - including safety, quality, GMP, etc. Be self-motivated and work with general supervision. Be willing to seek assistance from others when necessary. Be flexible and adaptable in working with/on a variety of equipment, processes, projects or assignments. Be detail-oriented, performing moderately complex work requiring close limits of accuracy and tolerances. The required skill set includes: Mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting and repair. Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, diagrams, and equipment specifications. Verbal and written communications. Understanding the working of complex machinery. Understanding and use of trade mathematics, calibration techniques, and precision measuring instruments. The work environment may require: Lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving of equipment and machinery weighing up to 60 lbs. Working in awkward and difficult positions. Must be knowledgeable in the following areas: Personal Computer applications including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook. Troubleshooting of Industrial Control Systems (sensors, instrumentation, ladder logic, relay logic, VFD, servo etc.) Sensor technologies Basic plumbing (fluid and pneumatic) Power transmission Electrical troubleshooting of circuits from low level signals up to 480 VAC. Additional experience in the following areas is desirable: Basic machining Welding Vacuum systems and pumps SAP maintenance module or equivalent computerized system Vision systems PLC System Troubleshooting Networked communication systems Required Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED 3-5 years of relevant and technically progressive experience within a manufacturing environment including the test, repair or maintenance of electro-mechanical equipment.
