Our job is to keep our users safe and make Yahoo one of the safest places on the Internet.We are the information security team at Yahoo; known as " The Paranoids ".You are a highly motivated current student interested in security analysis and incident response who will use Yahoo internal tools and other systems to detect and respond to security events. During your time here we will give you the opportunity to learn and be an investigator, at internet scale, enable you to protect our users, and empower you to learn from other analysts and responders while following the investigation through to the end.ResponsibilitiesMonitor and analyze security events from networks, applications, hosts, and databases to identify security incidentsPerform proactive research and identification of security anomaliesAssess security incidents and assist Yahoo business units to remediate issuesWork with a variety of security technologies including IDS, firewalls, EDR, etcRequirementsCurrently enrolled in an accredited higher education institution actively pursuing a Bachelor's, MS, or PhD in a related majorA desire to learn and grow in a dynamically changing environmentA strong interest in the field of information security and incident responseSolid organizational and customer service skillsDesiredUnderstanding of common network services (web, mail, FTP, etc), network vulnerabilities and attack patternsExperience with or understanding of SIEM solutionsFunctional experience with Windows, Mac and Linux systems and serviceYahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
