Want in?The Commerce client engineering team is part of the Commerce organization that is primarily focused on helping the world's consumers save time and money on their everyday purchases and on purchases related to their passions. This engineering team innovates and builds seamless user experiences of next generation Commerce initiatives across mobile(iOS/Android) and web platforms that are personalized for the Verizon Media consumers. If you are passionate about solving day-to-day user problems in the Commerce domain, this is the place to be, because you will gain excellent experience while engaged in projects that create significant impact to the users' lives as well as to the success of our business.We are looking for a front-end developer who is a great problem solver and excited about the overall lifecycle of a product - building, coding, testing, launching and learning by collaborating with design, product and platform teams.About the roleDesign, develop, code and test software systems or applications for softwareenhancements and new products in the Commerce domain. Revise and refine asrequiredParticipate in agile development of project timelines, implementation of designspecifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing and ongoing support ofsystemsRecommend modifications to processes and procedures, and contribute to bestpractices, architecture, and implementationsPromote and solicit ideas within project teamsRequirementsActively pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related major, or two years of work experience with BS or related majorKnowledge of software engineering processes, or tools (eg programming proficiency in a language, preferably Java, C/C++, methods, test development, support, algorithms and data structure)Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts, large-scale software architecture, networking and distributed systems, and UNIX/Linux environmentsExperience in one or many of the following is a plus:Frontend experience: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.JS, JS Framework (React and Ember)Backend experience (Java, C/C++)Cross-browser, cross-platform codingSecurityLarge-scale, large-user base website development experienceData mining, machine learning, AI, statistics, information retrieval, linguistic analysisInternship experience at a tech companyYahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
